VOJ Tech credentials

It was on 13 September 2023, when I obtained the certificate for my studies of LLM Environmental Law and Practice. After this challenge which lasted for over two years, a new one suddenly appeared. How can I add on this success and make it really count? I have a bachelor degree background from the Czech Republic, which could be summarised as environmental science.

I have experience from water quality testing - a business venture in the Czech Republic, which gave me the opportunity to see how a business in this field could be run. With my return to the academic sphere at De Montfort University, I can now imagine a path for a more successful service of environmental testing and custom consulting for the clients' requirements.

Academic Background

Bachelor Degree from Landscape Protection and Formation

I obtained this at the University of Ostrava in 2012. My programme was run by the department of Physical Geography and Geoecology at the Faculty of Science. This study provided me with a great overview of environmental science with subjects as geology, hydrology, climatology and ecology with a focus on map-making and understanding from subjects such as cartography, topography and geographic information systems (GIS). For the GIS, the US software ESRI ArcGIS was used and I had expanded on my user knowledge at my bachelor thesis. My bachelor thesis was mapping the regenerated sites of coal mining in Ostrava - Karvina district.

LLM Environmental Law and Practice

Achieving this at De Montfort University this year was a great success. I managed to attach this law school degree on my bachelor degree, during my full-time employment and this all with a merit grade at the end. My selected modules were in the Environmental Assessments, Waste Management Law and Water Pollution Law. For my master's dissertation, I was comparing the legal and policy regimes of England and the Czech Republic in the matters of contaminated land and brownfields. My aim in this final assignment was to solidify the link between my Czech undergraduate and English master's studies. With this set of skills, the question opens of what to do next and what service I should provide.

The prospects of business idea

The idea of yet again offering water quality testing comes to my mind. The problem is, if it did not work then, why now? Therefore, how about offering environmental testing. For the starters it could be water, soil and air. The service part of this would have to be improved, to provide further benefits to the customers who elected us.

For the name of the business, I would alter my forename as VOJ Tech, it is not a particularly easy name for English pronunciation and I have referred to myself as Voj for some years already.
