Water Literacy Programme still available on Eventbrite
Water Literacy Programme remains available on Eventbrite As stated in the previous article, I have now submitted my writings and pledges for the Water Literacy Programme. I do intend to use the learned tips for benefits of this business and I hope to receive the accreditation as it was advertised with. These presentations are conducted by the Groundwork East company over Microsoft Teams. I want to advertise/shout out about it as long as it is available on Eventbrite:

It usually happens in two portions of 3.5 hours with one week gap in between. The presentations and group workshops with discussions do summarise as 7 hours, however, there is homework to be submitted at the end. Should you wish to be accredited, the homework must be submitted in time of three weeks post the course completion.
This accreditation does not provide a competency such as dental hygienist or real estate agent, however, it serves the knowledge and tips about water saving with the right to show your accreditation as water literate. Should you wish to know more about the water scarcity in the United Kingdom and in the world, look up whether the course is still available on the Eventbrite website - current editions should be free as of 16 March 2025.
Whilst, I do not want to put many spoilers here, as the courses are still bookable, I would like to put below my main impressions from these online teachings. Upon registering you will receive a link for a pre-course survey. It will take you under 15 minutes to fill. There is a little catch - somewhere you are asked to generate and note a unique number. Since you will be asked this number again at the post-course survey, you could choose to note it somewhere you can easily find it. I do not understand what is the purpose of this memorisation exercise and I have left this field blank in the post-course survey. Still, if you want to help Groundwork East to map what you learn at this course, try to be better than myself on this occasion.
The course was run smoothly at the times as scheduled. There were some occasional technical issues in the first minutes of each session. I am inclined to believe that these were caused by the browsers, these users used. I would advise to always use the Microsoft Teams Program/App rather than a browser, as some people could not speak and others could not see the presentations. Nonetheless, the tutors were always helpful and acknowledging and sent the materials needed to the participant's email addresses.
Another hiccups occurred after the two sessions ended. On Eventbrite, there is a name and an email address you should be using to contact Groundwork East, should you have any issues with the programme. For some reason, I was not receiving the email with my homework - not even five days after the programme was over. I have sent them a couple of emails, demanding an explanation and the homework. Also, I found out on the still active Microsoft Teams conversations that this happened to other people too. I suspect that it was some sort of technical issue which was out of their control. I would still appreciate prompt responsiveness. Eventually, this was put right six days after the second online meeting and without any personal response to my messages. I hope I did not come across as pestering, but the organisers also deserve credit where credit is due.
Apart from those technicalities, I would like to share a little bit of my holistic view. The course is a magnet for interested people from businesses, universities and councils. Whilst the message of water scarcity and water saving is itself enlightening, the discussions in groups on topics were thought-provoking and engaging. You are already aware of the necessity of water for survival and life, however, here you will be given the idea how many water litres are spent for certain productions and activities and you will be given ideas how to improve your expenditure to the future.
I am glad that I could take part in the Water Literacy Programme. Should you decide to apply for it yourself, I wish you great learning and conversations on your journey. Also, should you want to share any ideas on this topic or similar in the VOJ-Tech News, please send me an email on info@voj-tech.co.uk.
